Historical Farmhouse in Healesville
{ OAK FARM } The new owners of this late 1800’s Victorian farmhouse were looking for a spacious rural property where they could escape the busy city life after living in an inner city apartment in Melbourne for many years. They found the perfect property in Healesville, and just a fifteen minute walk along the towns main road to the Healesville Hotel.
While the farmhouse and large grounds still have a lovely rustic country charm, there are plans for a major renovation of the main house with outdoor entertaining areas amongst the large trees on the front lawn.
The house, awaiting its renovation, is already tastefully decorated with French antiques, art, furniture and books from frequent travel to Europe.
The surrounding paddocks on the property have horses and cows grazing with further plans to return the gorgeous old brick stables to a working barn and horse stables once again.
Here are the “before” photos of beautiful ‘Oak Farm’…
The main bedroom is very French.
Front lawn and farmhouse with the stables in the background. Visitors enjoying the views with the ‘fur kids’ in tow.
Wherever we go, the dogs go… Yarra Valley wine country. There is already a farm full of much loved pets. No one is camera shy here, they all enjoy a good portrait or two!
The driveway is so long it takes 5 minutes to walk from the house to the road.
Healesville is a gourmet food and wine hub surrounded by stunning scenery in the famous Yarra Valley grape growing region. The town centre is situated along a tree-lined boulevard featuring an eclectic mix of specialty shops, talented artisians, markets and delicious local produce.
